Dr. Brenda L. Rooney is one of few chiropractors who is trained and excels in the chiropractic technique of extremity adjusting.

What is an extremity?

An extremity is a limb or appendage of the body which includes shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, fingers, knees, ankles, feet, toes and more.

What is an extremity adjustment?

Joints are the places where your bones meet, such as the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles. Within your joints, misalignment of the bones, soft-tissue restrictions, nerve impingement and inflammation can all cause pain, weakness, and numbness or tingling which can interfere with proper functioning and range of motion. Extremity adjusting is the technique of manipulating the joint of an extremity to restore the proper function and range of motion within the joint.

Why should I have an extremity adjusted?

The entire body works as a system with multiple individual parts that work separately. Manipulating and correcting one part of the body, such as an extremity, will ultimately help the whole body and the rest of its parts.

Possible signs and symptoms of extremity issues that may be helped through chiropractic care:

  • Extremity pain or pain in the extremity joint
  • Weakness in an extremity or joint
  • Stiffness in an extremity
  • Immobility of an extremity joint
  • Numbness or tingling in an extremity
  • Catching or locking of an extremity joint
